Our Motto

The motto “Luctor Et Emergo” of Don Bosco Bacolor is a common phrase often repeated and heard. It has great significance for us during this uncertain and unusual situation. The school – inclusive of all Bosconians, Teachers, Educators, Parents & Alumni – takes it up as its driving force to continue not only learning in the midst of uneasiness but moreover to bring our lives to overcome this present challenge.

“I struggle, I win” is the familiar translation of “Luctor et Emergo” known all these years. A timely annotation to give enrichment and relevance during these times is fitting.

An added way to look at “Luctor – I struggle” is seeing it from the perspective of determination. The emphasis is on the attitude of holding on, of persevering, of not giving up. The good Bosconian and every member of the school community are those with the strength of spirit to struggle in order to make things work. They who face all the difficulties and hurdles caused by Covid-19 live up to the school motto.

“Emergo – I Win” is the fruit of the resolute and willful attitude of fighting against all adversity. As a school community united in prayerful support for each other, the belief is that we will survive, we will overcome.

We will come out of this challenging stretch and arise as winners. “Luctor et Emergo” is our battle cry and our hope is steadfast as we acknowledge that everything will be made possible by the grace of God.
